The Christmas Holiday
Well Christmas is finally over and now I look forward to the new year. We had a wonderful Christmas. I made my first Christmas Eve dinner. I made prime rib for the first time ever with the help of course of Malma. We had prime rib, seasoned red potatoes, salad, fruit salad(made by Brandon), ravioli's and dinner rolls. My dad, Malma, Justin, Daveen, Kathy and Jerry were all there to enjoy a nice Christmas Eve.
On Christmas Day I had my mom and Gary over for breakfast along with Kathy and Jerry. After breakfast the kids opened their presents. The Hill family stopped in for a visit before going to a friend's house for dinner. After that it was time to prepare for the boys to head to Tennessee.
We woke up and loaded the car on Friday and headed to the Sacramento airport to drop the boys and my mom off for their trip. I cried when I said goodbye as it was hard to see them go. They arrived in Atlanta on time but got delayed for an hour and a half there so they ended up getting to Tennessee at 12:13am instead of 10:47pm. The good news however was they did get there. When I talked to them yesterday, they were having a great time visiting.
As far me and Brian we went out last night to see Valkyrie and then out to dinner with Bill and Julie Hill. Today I am getting caught up with my laundry and Brian is working on the Babygrand.
Well that's all for now. Have a wonderful week and Happy New Years to all.

Hello Again
Yes I'm back. Thank you goes out to my sister, Jayme for her wonderful new blog creation for me. I have been so busy with work and our move. We are finally all moved in. Now the unpacking and organizing begins. My Stepmom aka Malma came over last weekend and helped me put some pictures on the walls so at least my house is starting to feel like home. This weekend we are going to start the Christmas decorating. The boys have been itching to start, especially Brandon. He can't wait. I also plan to start and finish my Christmas shopping hopefully. Well with our racing season done until spring there has not been very much else happening. The boys and my mom will be heading to Tennessee for a week the day after Christmas and they are very excited. School for them will be out starting next Friday. They are looking forward to that as well. As for me I have a full work week next week and then I have to work Monday and Tuesday and then I am off until the 29th of December. I am so looking forward to the time off. It has been very hectic at work lately.
Well I better go so I can get the boys ready for bed and get settled for Survivor Thursday. Have a very nice weekend and I will blog again soon with some pictures of the new Curran pad.

OK Blog Police Settle Down
Yes it has been a while since I last blogged. We have been very busy with work and preparing to move to our new residence. I lost 2 of my CSR's and so I have been working a lot of extra hours to make sure things get done.
Brian has also been working a lot of overtime which is good. It helps out with extra money for necessities.
Since I last posted Brent ended up 3rd overall in his WSRA Minicups Points and 2nd in his MMRA points. He won Rookie of the Year in both and ended up with the award of most improved.
Brian and Brent both celebrated their birthdays with a trip to Tulare for the World of Outlaw Sprint Cars. We had a great time.
Well sorry to make it short but I have a bunch of stuff to do including preparing dinner for my family. As I stated we are moving at the end of this month so I have been packing as I am able to get time.
Talk to you all soon,

He's Done It Again
Brent has done it again. He qualified first this weekend with a new track record at Madera. He then started the race in 4th and with 2 laps to go had passed for the lead to take his fourth main event win. All I have to say is it was amazing. Everyone in the grand stands and the pit stands cheered when he took the lead. It was great.
Well we will be moving next month to our new home. It is Brian's dads home just around the corner from where we are now. It is a tri level with 4 bedrooms so it is much bigger then the house we have currently. We are very excited about this new adventure.
This weekend we are going to finish helping Brian's dad get his grandmother moved out of her house and will be having a moving/garage sale on Saturday and then on Sunday taking the remainder of the items to the Concord flea market to sell. We to have some stuff to sell before we move so this is going to be a big sale.
Well that's all for now. I'll post again soon.
Love,

Me Again
Hello All,
Since my sister did a fantastic job updating my blog to a fall background, I thought it would be the right time to let you know what has been going on. I received my test results from my ultrasound and everything has resolved itself so at this time I do not have to have surgery. I spent some time by myself as my family was r/c car racing this past weekend. I was able to get caught up on all my soaps. They had a great time.
This weekend it is off to Madera for our 2nd to last race in the minicups. Brent seems to do pretty good at this track so hopefully his luck will continue.
I got to purchase an early Christmas present last night. It is a new digital SLR camera by Cannon. It is called a Cannon Rebel XSI. It is scheduled to arrive on Friday(just in time for the weekend). I can't wait, I have been wanting a nice camera for some time now.
Well that is all for now. Have a great weekend and don't forget to leave comments.
Love,

It's been a while
I know it has been a while since my last post however with my new job and the extra curricular activities with school starting and Brent's racing I have not had a lot of free time.
Brent raced in Montana this past weekend for the National Championships. It was a 22 hour drive one way. He did a great job setting fast time and winning the 15 lap qualifying race. He cam in 2nd in the main event as he had difficulty passing a lapper for the second time. Darn those back markers. Over all he finished 2nd in National points and was crowned Rookie of the Year. I took some pictures in Montana which I will post at a later date.
When we returned from Montana we were notified that Brian's Grandmother (on his Dad's side) had suffered a heart attack and was in the hospital. This was a real blow as we just lost his Grandfather 2 months ago. We went to visit her in the hospital Tuesday evening and she is stable and alert. She is still in pain from her fall during the heart attack which she sustained 2 slip disk to her back. We are just praying that she will improve and get to come home.
That's really all that has been happening around here but for me that is a lot. Tonight is Back to School Night at the high school and with being part of the PTSA/Boosters I have to bring refreshments, so it is brownies and cookies for the occasion.
Well I hope you all have a great weekend.

My weekend
Hello all,
Well this weekend was a weekend for me. Brian left Friday morning for a trip with Bill Hill. The boys went to my moms as they had a fishing trip scheduled with Papa Gary. That meant I was all alone for the weekend. It was kinda nice but also very scary. I think I was awake for every noise that I heard. I had set the alarm but still was very uneasy. I was invited to go with my girlfriend Kim and her boyfriend Lawrence to their dog show on Saturday. It was nothing like what you see on TV. Needless to say their dog lost. On Sunday the boys came home and we went over to my dads house for a visit and dinner. Brian got home on Monday at 7:00 am in the morning after driving all night so we didn't do anything on Monday. The boys however went to the races with Nana and Papa as it was a special race for Labor Day.
This weekend we are going to a 50Th birthday BBQ on Saturday and maybe to the flea market on Sunday to try and sell some things for Brian's dad and Grandma.
That's all for now. Have a great week.

What's Going On
Well it has been a long time since my last post. Since the last posting Brent has had his 9th race which was in Roseville. He did an awesome job by qualifying 1st and finishing 2nd in the main. Brent's article hit the papers last Friday it was a great article. We will be heading to Montana for the Western Grand Nationals on Sept 12th. We are looking forward to this trip.
This weekend we did not have any Minicup races but that didn't stop my family from racing. We have now taken up the sport of R/C Car racing in our spare time. Brian, Brent and Brandon are now r/c car racing. They love it. Brent and Brian have the Sprint Car and Brandon has the Late Model. Brent won all his races, Brandon finished second in all his races and Brian won all of his.

Today was the first day of school for the kids. Brandon started 4th grade and this is Brent's first year in High School. So far both boys had good days at school.
As far as me, my promotion to Customer Service Manager has finally been announced and has rolled out. I look forward to the new challenges that this new role will bring me.
Well that's all for now. Have a wonderful week.

Registration Days
Well this week has been loaded with preparation for the start of another school year. On Wednesday I registered Brandon for 4th grade at Belshaw. He will have a new teacher new to the school so we will see how that goes. Brandon is also being introduced to uniforms this year. The uniforms consist of navy blue polo shirts and khaki pants or shorts.
Today will be Brent's turn for registering for his first year of high school. Yes I said high school. It is hard to believe as it feels like just yesterday when I was registering him for Kindergarten. I think he is starting to get nervous. Both the boys start school on August 25th.
Tomorrow is another day of racing. We are heading to Roseville for our 9th race of the season. Please say a prayer that Brent has a good day this time. Well that is all for now. I'll let you know how things go. Have a great weekend.
PS Today is my Sister and Brother-in-law's 10th Wedding Anniversary. I want to say congratulations to them and hope that they have a great day and many more years to come. Love ya Jayme and Tommy.

NOT A VERY GOOD RACE WEEKEND
Well this weekend did not turn out to be what we had hoped for as far as Brent's racing goes. We had our 8th race at Madera Speedway this weekend. Everything started out good with Brent setting 2nd fast time with a track record. He had to start 5th in the main event since they pulled a 6 for an invert. He had raced his way to 3rd place and the car in front of him got loose and when Brent checked up to avoid hitting him the car in 4th hit him and spun him around. That sent us to the back with 8 laps to go. He restarted and was doing a great job working his way back up when again the car in front of him got loose and collected Brent and spun him into the infield which caused a yellow checkered flag. Needless to say we finished 12th. He was so upset but Brian and I assured him he did nothing wrong and unfortunately it was a racing deal that happens. We told him that it was just a bad week and not to worry about it.
Well I had my followup doctor's appointment today with the OB/GYN Specialist. As of right now I have been scheduled for another ultrasound to see how the cyst is progressing. We are crossing our fingers that it has decreased in sized so that I will not need to have surgery. The ultrasound has been scheduled for the 3rd of September.
Well that's all for now. Brent has another race this weekend however this time it is in Roseville. Please keep your fingers cross for him that he will have a much better race day. Have a great week. Talk to you all soon.

Brent's Big Day
Hello All,
Well today is a very big day for Brent. The Contra Costa Times has approved the running of the story that our neighbor Mitch did on Brent and his racing so the newspaper will be at our house at 4pm today to take pictures. Brent is so excited and we are very excited for him. Hopefully this will drum up some sponsorship for him. It is due to be published next Friday. Brent will be racing this weekend in hopes of doing well enough to continue to push towards his goal of Champion. We are all praying that it will be a good race weekend for him.
I was suppose to have my 20th High School Graduation Reunion this Saturday but since Brent has a race I am not going to be able to attend.
Well that is all for now. Have a great remainder of the week.

My Birthday
Well yesterday was my 38Th birthday. Yes 38, 2 more years and I will be 40. That's a horrible thought. This week did not start very good for me. I guess my new age started off to be a true "pain". I came home from work on Tuesday with a severe burning pain in my stomach. It continued all night and by the time 4 am rolled around on Wednesday I had had enough. I woke Brian up to take me to emergency. Well after 12 hours in the emergency room and plenty of pokes and probes it was determined to be a problem with some of my female organs again. I am scheduled to see a specialist on Monday, August 11Th. I will keep you all notified with the outcome. After taking a day to recuperate, I went back to work on Friday to find that my co-workers had decorated my desk for my birthday and had brought me flowers and the Step Up 2 DVD. They took me to lunch at Chevy's for my favorite Fajita Nachos.
On Saturday, my mom took the boys and I to lunch at Chili's and then to Fashion Bug where I got a couple of tops for work. Brian had to work so he met us for lunch and then when he got home we headed to my dads for a birthday dinner. I had asked for meatloaf, mash potatoes and Malma's famous green beans. It was all very good. Brian's dad and step mom joined us for dinner also. After dinner we watched the kids play in the pool and sat around and chit chatted. Brian's dad and step mom left around 8pm and then we decided to play a game called Mexican Train. It is a real fun dominoes game. Needless to say we were there until 1:oo in the morning.
Well today is a get ready for the work week day. I am doing all my household chores and still trying to recuperate from my ordeal on Wednesday.
That's all for now. Brent has a race this weekend in Madera so it will be another busy weekend for us Curran's. Have a great week.
PS: Have a great first week at school Allie and Ashley.

Another Busy Weekend
Well it was another very busy weekend for the Curran's. It all started on Friday when we went to Infineon to watch the NHRA drag race nationals. Our neighbor across the street who works for the newspaper was able to get us tickets. The boys had a blast and they were able to get signatures from many of the drivers.
On Saturday Brent had another points race at Madera Speedway. Let's just say the kid was on a mission. He was the fast qualifier of the night and then he started 6th in the A main and won. That is his 3rd win this season. He now sits just 6 points out of 1st place.
On Sunday we were suppose to go to a BBQ at my friend Kim's house but something came up so we ended up going to dinner at my dad's house. As soon as Brian found out Malma was cooking Stroganoff there was nothing stopping him from being there.
Well that's all for now. Have a great week.

I'M SORRY
This posting is for my niece Ashley. Ashley I am so sorry that I forgot to call you on your birthday :(. I feel like such a bad Auntie. I will make it up to you so watch the mail OK. I Love You!!!!
As for the rest of how things are going in sunny, hot California. I just talked to Brent and Brandon and they are on their way to Lake Tahoe with Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Jerry. They have been very busy the last couple of weeks. They have been fishing, swimming, racing R/C Cars and driving the go-kart all over the place. Tomorrow night they are going to a Stockton Lighting game(Arena Football).
As far as my weekend plans: We are going tonight to check out a new R/C Car track that is in Oakley. On Saturday we are scheduled to assist Brian's Dad with organization of a garage sale and then Sunday we are scheduled to do absolutely nothing.
Anyway hope everything is well with everyone else. Have a very nice weekend.

4th of July Festivities
Well our 4Th of July started off on Friday afternoon when we attended a BBQ at my friends Kim's house. We had macaroni salad, french bread, corn on the cob and tri tip. It was very good. After the BBQ we all carpooled down to the river to watch the fireworks from the boat ramp. We also witness a gentlemen sinking his boat. It was very sad as they were still trying to get it back up when we were leaving.
On Saturday we had Bill and Julie over for a BBQ at our house and to watch the Nascar race. They were also kidless this weekend so it was very quiet and nice. The company was nice the race ended up awful.
On Sunday we went over to chat with Brian's dad and stepmom and ended up going to dinner with them to have Mexican food at a new restaurant. It was very good.
Well that is it for my 4Th of July weekend. Have a nice day.

It's been a long time
I know that it has been a long time since my last post. Not much happening except the norm. Since my last post Brent had another race at Madera. He qualified 2Nd which is a big improvement from the last race. With the invert he started 5Th in the trophy dash and finished 3rd and he started 5Th in the main and also finished 3rd. Brandon entered a raffle that if the car received a trophy that they would pull a ticket out of a hat and that child would go and get the trophy and have his picture taken. Well needless to say there is another trophy in our house as he won the drawing.
Well my Dad, Stepmom and Grandpa are in Tennessee for another 2 weeks and while they are there my children have been up in the mountains. I can't wait until they get back as I miss them all very much. I have been watering plants and making sure the pool is at the right level while they have been gone.
We had a very hard week last week as Brian's grandfather passed away. We laid him to rest on Wednesday, July 2ND. My poor husband lost both his Grandmother(on his moms side) and Grandfather (on his dads side) in the last 3 months. We are planning to go this weekend to Napa to help assist his dad with organizing a garage sale for his Grandma.
Well I better go so that I can do my work. Talk to you all soon.

Our Father's Day Weekend
We had a great time at Great America. We were able to ride everything and only waited 20 minutes at the most. Most of the rides we got right on. It was great weather also. Brandon rode everything that he was tall enough to ride including the Demon. The Demon is a fast paced roller coaster ride that has 2 loops and a corkscrew. He actually said that it was his favorite ride. I have posted some pictures that I took before my camera died. Brent spent the weekend with some friends so he did not go with us to Great America.
On Sunday we celebrated Fathers Day with Dale Jr winning the Nascar Race and then dinner at my dads. It was good eating's as always. We had my dad's favorite which was spaghetti and my Grandpa's favorite which was turkey and mashed potatoes. Needless to say we were stuffed.
Well I better go so that I can finish up my laundry before heading to bed for another work day.
