Our Weekend

Well is was a beautiful weekend. The temperature was in the upper 80's lower 90's. My weekend started on Friday with an evening at my friend from work Kim's house. Some of us from work got together and just hung out. On Saturday we went to Bill and Julie Hill's so that Brent could get some assistance with his sponsorship packet from Taylor. They got about 50% of it done. Then it was off to the races at Antioch Speedway. They didn't have very many cars though. I guess the economy has hit some of the racers. On Sunday we did some house work before going over to my dad's house for some sun and dinner. I ended up laying out and getting caught up on the book I have been trying to finish. Brandon was the only brave one who decided to test out the new surface of their pool. He said as his little lip shivered "the new steps and the bottom was good." We left to come home at 7pm so that we could get the kids showered and in bed and to get ready for another long work week.

Our Busy Weekend

Well it is Tuesday afternoon and I am still trying to recuperate from a very long weekend. Brent had another race this weekend except this time it was at Madera Speedway. This was his first time racing at this track. He qualified 7th but was allowed to race in the trophy dash since 2 of his rookie competitors were not able to run do to rookie rules. He ended up winning the trophy dash. Brent had to take his picture with 2 men dressed as women. He was so embarrassed that his little cheeks were red. Brent did say he had never won at that track before but if this was the result of winning he didn't know if he wanted to win again. Well for the main event he started on the outside of the front row. He raced really hard and ended up third. He is now 4th in overall points for the series so far.




We are done racing for the next 5 weeks so hopefully we can get some household chores done however, there are other races still happening so I am sure that we still will be attending some sort of racing while we are off.

Our boy did it!!!

Well Brent did it, he won a Minicup A-Main event on Saturday in Roseville. He did a fantastic job and we couldn't be prouder. We were all very excited. He qualified 3rd fastest and started on the outside of the front row. I did play a pretty mean trick on my dad. I called him after Brent had won and with a serious voice I told him that Brent had been in an accident and we were at the hospital. He started to panic so I had to end this joke and tell him the truth that he had won. He told me that I was in big trouble when he saw me. I told him that it was pay back for his Hannah Montana joke he played on Brandon's birthday. We will race again on Saturday at Madera. This will be our first time there. We are probably going to head down on Friday to see if we can get some practice in. Please keep Brent in your thoughts and prayers this weekend for his safety and success.

Getting back to the usual routine

Well we are back to the normal everyday life after a very busy weekend and early week. Yosemite was beautiful. We saw lots of deer, birds and squirrels. The waterfalls were beautiful, we hiked up so that we could actually feel the overspray. We stayed at a beautiful lodge which was right on the Merced River. We had a balcony that overlooked the river. I liked to hear the noise of the water rushing, it was so peaceful. Our room was equipped with a shower for 2, a jacuzzi tub, kingsize bed and a fireplace. It was beautiful. Here are just a few pictures from our trip.

We attended Brian's Grandma's memorial service on Sunday at her friends Mary's house. There was a lot of her friends that she cruised with there. We all got in a circle and talked about some of our memories. On Monday we went to San Francisco to take a boat out to scatter her ashes. It was a very nice ceremony and it turned out to be a nice day. After the boat trip we had lunch at the Rainforest Cafe. That happened to be the last place we went with Grandma McGreevy when she was still well.

Well after spending the last few days with family from out of town it is now time to go back to the usual routine of work and catching up on household chores.

Allie, I sent you a birthday card today but I didn't get an email that you read it so tell your mom to open her email. Anyway I hope you had a nice one. LOVE YA

Yosemite here we come.

We will be leaving for Yosemite today for our anniversary weekend. I am so looking forward to this trip. We are taking our bikes(this was the boys recommendation) so that we can ride the trails. We are staying at a lodge there. The boys are going to their Grandma Kathy's for the weekend. They are looking forward to that. I will take lots of pictures so that I can post them when we return. Well gotta go so that I can finish with my work since I will be off until Thursday, 04-10-08.

Can you tell by my character I cut and colored my hair on Tuesday. It is lighter and shorter. The only difference is I have bangs.
