Minicup Autograph Session/Race Pictures

What's Going On

Well it has been a long time since my last post. Since the last posting Brent has had his 9th race which was in Roseville. He did an awesome job by qualifying 1st and finishing 2nd in the main. Brent's article hit the papers last Friday it was a great article. We will be heading to Montana for the Western Grand Nationals on Sept 12th. We are looking forward to this trip.

This weekend we did not have any Minicup races but that didn't stop my family from racing. We have now taken up the sport of R/C Car racing in our spare time. Brian, Brent and Brandon are now r/c car racing. They love it. Brent and Brian have the Sprint Car and Brandon has the Late Model. Brent won all his races, Brandon finished second in all his races and Brian won all of his.

Today was the first day of school for the kids. Brandon started 4th grade and this is Brent's first year in High School. So far both boys had good days at school.

As far as me, my promotion to Customer Service Manager has finally been announced and has rolled out. I look forward to the new challenges that this new role will bring me.

Well that's all for now. Have a wonderful week.

Registration Days

Well this week has been loaded with preparation for the start of another school year. On Wednesday I registered Brandon for 4th grade at Belshaw. He will have a new teacher new to the school so we will see how that goes. Brandon is also being introduced to uniforms this year. The uniforms consist of navy blue polo shirts and khaki pants or shorts.

Today will be Brent's turn for registering for his first year of high school. Yes I said high school. It is hard to believe as it feels like just yesterday when I was registering him for Kindergarten. I think he is starting to get nervous. Both the boys start school on August 25th.

Tomorrow is another day of racing. We are heading to Roseville for our 9th race of the season. Please say a prayer that Brent has a good day this time. Well that is all for now. I'll let you know how things go. Have a great weekend.

PS Today is my Sister and Brother-in-law's 10th Wedding Anniversary. I want to say congratulations to them and hope that they have a great day and many more years to come. Love ya Jayme and Tommy.

Our Day at the Drag Races

NOT A VERY GOOD RACE WEEKEND

Well this weekend did not turn out to be what we had hoped for as far as Brent's racing goes. We had our 8th race at Madera Speedway this weekend. Everything started out good with Brent setting 2nd fast time with a track record. He had to start 5th in the main event since they pulled a 6 for an invert. He had raced his way to 3rd place and the car in front of him got loose and when Brent checked up to avoid hitting him the car in 4th hit him and spun him around. That sent us to the back with 8 laps to go. He restarted and was doing a great job working his way back up when again the car in front of him got loose and collected Brent and spun him into the infield which caused a yellow checkered flag. Needless to say we finished 12th. He was so upset but Brian and I assured him he did nothing wrong and unfortunately it was a racing deal that happens. We told him that it was just a bad week and not to worry about it.

Well I had my followup doctor's appointment today with the OB/GYN Specialist. As of right now I have been scheduled for another ultrasound to see how the cyst is progressing. We are crossing our fingers that it has decreased in sized so that I will not need to have surgery. The ultrasound has been scheduled for the 3rd of September.

Well that's all for now. Brent has another race this weekend however this time it is in Roseville. Please keep your fingers cross for him that he will have a much better race day. Have a great week. Talk to you all soon.

Brent's Big Day

Hello All,
Well today is a very big day for Brent. The Contra Costa Times has approved the running of the story that our neighbor Mitch did on Brent and his racing so the newspaper will be at our house at 4pm today to take pictures. Brent is so excited and we are very excited for him. Hopefully this will drum up some sponsorship for him. It is due to be published next Friday. Brent will be racing this weekend in hopes of doing well enough to continue to push towards his goal of Champion. We are all praying that it will be a good race weekend for him.

I was suppose to have my 20th High School Graduation Reunion this Saturday but since Brent has a race I am not going to be able to attend.

Well that is all for now. Have a great remainder of the week.

My Birthday

Well yesterday was my 38Th birthday. Yes 38, 2 more years and I will be 40. That's a horrible thought. This week did not start very good for me. I guess my new age started off to be a true "pain". I came home from work on Tuesday with a severe burning pain in my stomach. It continued all night and by the time 4 am rolled around on Wednesday I had had enough. I woke Brian up to take me to emergency. Well after 12 hours in the emergency room and plenty of pokes and probes it was determined to be a problem with some of my female organs again. I am scheduled to see a specialist on Monday, August 11Th. I will keep you all notified with the outcome. After taking a day to recuperate, I went back to work on Friday to find that my co-workers had decorated my desk for my birthday and had brought me flowers and the Step Up 2 DVD. They took me to lunch at Chevy's for my favorite Fajita Nachos.

On Saturday, my mom took the boys and I to lunch at Chili's and then to Fashion Bug where I got a couple of tops for work. Brian had to work so he met us for lunch and then when he got home we headed to my dads for a birthday dinner. I had asked for meatloaf, mash potatoes and Malma's famous green beans. It was all very good. Brian's dad and step mom joined us for dinner also. After dinner we watched the kids play in the pool and sat around and chit chatted. Brian's dad and step mom left around 8pm and then we decided to play a game called Mexican Train. It is a real fun dominoes game. Needless to say we were there until 1:oo in the morning.

Well today is a get ready for the work week day. I am doing all my household chores and still trying to recuperate from my ordeal on Wednesday.

That's all for now. Brent has a race this weekend in Madera so it will be another busy weekend for us Curran's. Have a great week.

PS: Have a great first week at school Allie and Ashley.
